What does the MODG Ancient History curriculum cover?

The MODG Ancient History and Literature course uses Warren Carroll's  The
Founding of Christendom
as the primary text .In addition, the student reads works
of literature and primary historical sources that are correlated to the time period
being studied in history, such as
Antigone by Sophocles, Herodotus' Histories,
Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw, The Rise of the Roman Empire by Polybius,
and
Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, as well as a variety of supplemental
historical fiction. Also included are essay and paper topics to give the student
practice with writing in a variety of styles.
