On this site we provide information you will need for your Learning Support classes, such as Adobe
Connect, Quia & Proboards. You can also view the general academic calendar,
important information on grading, and technical information. You will be able to view your
teacher contact information, download files, and download the NLE forms. There is also a
page for student achievements. Please let us know your academic and school achievements
and we will post them on the site. It’s a great way to get to know each other! We will also post end
of year ‘awards’ here.
Beginning Your Year
In order to help your school year get off to a smooth start, we have compiled this page of technical
information about Learning Support classes. This web page contains most of the information you will
need, so be sure to read through it carefully.
Before your class begins, download any needed documents from your class page on this website.
Make sure you know how to access Adobe Connect (detailed instructions can be found below). If
you are in a class that requires online quizzes, make sure you have your Quia name and password,
which will be e-mailed to you. (Having problems logging in to Quia? Click Here.) It may be helpful to
check your Internet speed (www.speedtest.net.) We suggest you have an Internet download speed of
at least 3 MB/second and an upload speed of .75 MB/second for a smooth experience. Finally, to make
sure you are all ready for your Learning Support classes to begin, you can click on the following link
for an overview of everything you may need to download or set up prior to the start of your class:

Note: When you sign into Adobe, you will be asked whether you would like to download the Adobe
Add In. Say yes! This will help with your audio for the classes.

Accessing Your Class:
All Learning Support classes take place over Adobe Connect. Instructions on how to access your
classes can be found below:

Signing Into a Class:
The student should sign into class no more than five minutes prior to class time.
Note: If you click on your class room link and you are directed to a page that says "The host has
ended this meeting", or something similar, try logging out and then logging back in a few minutes
later. This means that the teacher has not opened the class room yet.
Parents are free to listen in on their students' class, if they want to. However, we ask that parents do
not participate in class. Some teachers may be able to answer questions after class, but in general it is
best to e-mail teachers with questions or set up a separate time to talk with
them.
Networking:
Most students like to stay in touch outside of class. If you would like to do this, you can register on
our board Here. While we cannot block adds on the site, parents can by using the parental control
settings on your home computer.
Each class has a special password to its own board on Proboards, This password will be emailed to
you. For our students' protection, we do not allow pictures to be posted online. If your child would
like to send a picture out to his class, he may e-mail it to his teacher to forward to his classmates.
Parents, all e-mails with pictures will go to your designated e-mail address. If you would like e-mail to
go directly to the student, you must let his teacher know.
